Nova's 'Under the Coverage' Podcast Returns for Season Four
Podcast shares insights on navigating health care benefits
Wish you understood how to better navigate the health care system? We do too. That’s why Nova Healthcare Administrators, Inc. (Nova) is excited to launch the fourth season of “Under the Coverage,” a podcast featuring people who spend their working days focused on health benefits and health care, to share their insider tips on information they wish every health care consumer knew.
The new season premiered this week with its latest episode, “How and When to Make Changes to Your Benefits,” available on SoundCloud, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Pandora, Amazon Music, YouTube Podcasts, iHeart and TuneIn or via digital assistants like Alexa, Google and Cortana. Just ask Alexa to, “play the Under the Coverage podcast on Apple Podcasts” (or wherever you get your podcasts).
In this week’s episode, hosts Sara Fluskey, Nova chief marketing & communications officer, and Jolene Myers, manager, marketing, discuss the ins and outs of open enrollment as well as the life events that allow you to make changes to your health insurance benefits.
“Last year you barely went to the doctor, so the cheapest high-deductible plan worked perfectly fine,” said Fluskey. “But this year, you know you have knee surgery coming up or some sort of procedure, or you’ve been diagnosed in that year with something new or different, so you might end up using your benefits differently than you did the year prior. Open enrollment is the time when you get to switch plans so that you can figure out based on how I’m going to use the plan, what is the smartest use of my money?”
