Podcast Offers Tips for Choosing the Right Health Plan
Learn tools to make smarter decisions during open enrollment
Trying to figure out which health plan is best for you? In the latest episode of “Under the Coverage,” we give you the tools to make a smarter, more confident decision this enrollment season.
In “It’s Open Enrollment: Which Health Plan Should I Pick?” hosts Sara Fluskey, Nova chief marketing & communications officer, and Jolene Myers, manager, marketing, break down the key differences between copay-based plans and high-deductible health plans (HDHPs), and explain how provider networks can impact your choices.
Whether you’re comparing premiums or thinking about out-of-pocket costs, we’ll discuss how to determine what plan best fits your lifestyle. Selecting your health plan is one of the most important choices you make each year.
“It impacts you for the next 365 days and not all plans are created equal,” said Fluskey. “And I don’t say that because some plans are good and some plans are bad. It really has to do with how you use your benefit plan. So, we don't all have the same needs. A single healthy 27-year-old is going to use benefits differently than a 27-year-old with a chronic condition. And they’re not going to use their plan the same way a family with three kids is going to use it. And a family with three young children might use their benefits differently than a family with three older children, one in college, two in high school.”
Tune into the latest episode for guidance on how to choose the right plan for you based on how you use your medical benefits.
