Reimbursement Account Information Center

Nova’s secure online benefit portal provides access to information including account balances and activity, statements, claim submission records, plan documents and forms.

Once you establish your account online you can download the NovaFlex App for iOS and Android devices to access account information on the go. With the app you can submit claims and snap a photo of a receipt to eliminate paperwork, report a debit card lost or stolen, and try out the Eligible Expense Scanner to determine qualified medical expenses before you buy!

Nova Innovations Visa®

Your plan may include Nova’s Innovations Visa® to simplify the process of accessing the funds in your reimbursement accounts. Your card can be used at qualifying merchant locations that accept Visa. Each enrolled employee receives two cards. The card may be used only for qualified expenses, as determined by your plan or as regulated by the IRS depending on your plan.

In the event you pay out of pocket, you can always file a claim for reimbursement. Access printable forms now. Not a fan of paper? You can file a claim electronically through Nova's secure Reimbursement Account Information Center.

Overview

Nova’s Innovations Visa makes it easier to access funds in an FSA, HRA, HSA or Lifestyle Benefit account. An alternative to filing paper claims, just swipe anywhere a Visa card is accepted. You can use the card to pay for eligible expenses. The definition of “eligible expenses” varies depending on the plan you have.

How long do I keep the card?

The card is renewable each year, for up to three years, when you re-enroll in your current plan. Even if you use all of the funds on your card, keep it as it can be reloaded in the next plan year when you renew your benefits.

Where can I find my account balance?

You can access your account information any time by logging into Nova’s secure web portal. Once you create your online account, you can access it on your phone or tablet by downloading the NovaFlex App for iOS or Android devices. Use these online tools to conveniently manage your reimbursement accounts 24/7.

My card was denied/my provider does not accept Visa

Your transaction may be denied because:

  • Your balance is below your purchase amount
  • The provider/merchant’s machine is not coded correctly to accept the type of Visa card you have
  • The provider/merchant does not accept Visa cards

In any of these events, you can pay out of pocket and submit a claim for reimbursement, along with an EOB, invoice or itemized receipt. Visit our Reimbursement Account Information Center and log in to submit a claim online or access our claim forms online.

What is it?

A Flexible Spending Account (FSA) is a general term for a variety of benefits that can include reimbursement for medical, dependent care, parking and transportation, adoption or other expenses as determined by a health benefit plan. All FSAs are regulated by the IRS. Nova administers plans in accordance with IRS regulations, including requests for documentation to confirm qualified expenses.

Who is eligible?

Any employee offered an FSA plan through their employer.

Who funds the account?

Typically, FSA plans are funded by employee contributions though employers are able to contribute funds.

Contribution limits

Your employer will set the limits for your plan though the IRS caps contributions and those dollar limits are reviewed and updated annually. Contribution limits vary depending on the type of FSA you have. In 2024, the IRS limits are:

  • $3,200 - Medical FSA or limited purpose FSA
  • $5,000 - Dependent Care FSA for single taxpayers and married couples filing jointly
  • $2,500 – Dependent Care FSA for married couples filing separately
  • $16,810 – Adoption Assistance
  • $315 – Transit passes
  • $315 – Qualified parking

FSA plans may have rollover, runout or grace periods. It is important to understand how these terms apply to your plan, so you are sure to get the most out of your FSA benefit.
